What is the Eligibility Criteria ?

Applicants willing to apply for any or all of these post must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions. as given below.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants willing to apply for JKSSB Recruitment 2025 in Home Department, must have the below mentioned Academic Qualifications.

All Assistant Scientific Officers	Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Physics/Biochemistry/Pharmacology/Forensic Science with minimum 50% marks from UGC-recognized university
Assistant Superintendent Jail	Graduation + PG Diploma in Social Work/Sociology/Psychology
Computer Assistant	Graduation with one year Diploma in Computer Applications OR BCA OR B. Sc (IT) OR 3 year Diploma in Computer applications / Software Application from an AICTE recognized institution
Laboratory Attendant	10+2 with Science having Maths or Science as one of the subjects from any of the recognized Boards in India.

Other Eligibility Conditions

Applicants willing to apply for any of these posts must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions.

1. Domicile: Applicant must be a Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir ie they must possess the Domicile Certificate issued by the Govt of J&K before the closing date of the application.
2. Age -Limit: Applicant must have attained the age of 18 years and maximum age should not exceed 40 years . However there is relaxation in upper age limit as per the J&K govt’s rules as given below
   • For SC/ST/OBC/ALC/IB/RBA/EWS: 43 Years
   • For Physically Challenged (PwBD): 42 years
   • For Ex-Serviceman: 48 years.

Selection Process

The Selection Process for all the above posts comprises of Written Exam only.

Merit obtained in the Written exam is the sole criteria of selection. Those candidates who score higher in the Merit list against the number of vacancies will be selected for these posts.

J&K Govt. has already abolished the Interviews for all of the posts for which JKSSB conducts the exam.

So Merit obtained in the Written exam is the sole criteria for Selection.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Visit Portal: Go to jkssb.nic.in after August 4, 2025
2. Register: Click “New User” → Enter mobile/email → Verify OTP
3. Fill Form:
   • Enter EXACT details from Matriculation Certificate (Name/DOB/Parents’ Names)
   • Select post carefully (Only 1 application per post allowed)
4. Upload Documents:
   • Photo (4.5cm × 3.5cm, <50KB)
   • Signature (scanned, <50KB)
   • Domicile/Reservation Certificates (PDF, <1MB)
5. Pay Fee: Choose online option → Complete payment
6. Submit & Print: Save application number → Take printout
